Remaining DHS-Compliant with Clear Receptacles from Securr

Posted by David Moore on

In order to make travel safer for all involved, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requires certain protective measures to be put in place by passenger rail operators. According to this directives, certain locations are required to either remove trash receptacles or they must use clear plastic or bomb-resistant containers in these locations. To help these locations remain compliant with the DHS directive, Securr offers a line of receptacles that are specifically designed to meet the requirements of the Department of Homeland Security.

What Features Can be Found in Securr’s DHS-Compliant Receptacles?

While Securr offers several different varieties of sizes and shapes of receptacles that are DHS-compliant, you can count on each one to offer the following features:

  • Constructed from high-grade Makrolon polycarbonate
  • Clear plastic side panels that allow contents to be easily viewed when paired with clear bags
  • Clear panels will not yellow over time
  • Scratch resistant
  • High heat resistance

While many of the receptacles are made with .236 thick clear plastic side panels, lower cost options with .093 thick polycarbonate panels are also available.

What Options are Available with the .236 Thickness?

Several DHS-compliant models with .236 clear plastic side panels are available. These include:

The primary difference between each of these models is the capacity and the intended purpose, with the recycle bins have smaller intake holes for placing cans, bottles and other similar items inside.

What Options are Available with the .093 Thickness?

If you need to save a little on the cost of your receptacles and a thinner thickness is acceptable for your purposes, Securr also offers several receptacles with the .093 thickness. These include:

While there are not quite as many trash receptacles and recycling bins available at this thinner size, we are confident that you will be able to find a size and design that is suitable for your needs while also saving money on your receptacle.

Do You Offer Receptacles That are Thicker Than .236?

We do offer one receptacle with a thickness of .250. The Outdoor Square Trash Can with 40 Gallon Capacity also features a hinged top. In addition to offering added security with the thicker panels, the hinged top makes it easier to access the contents while remaining aesthetically pleasing.

If you are interested in purchasing a DHS-compliant receptacle, but you are not sure which is right for you, contact Securr today so we can help you make the best purchasing decision for your needs!
